Or in more colloquial terms......
Yo. Its Spring Y'all.
My little sister, a middle school English teacher, posted this poem on Facebook this mornng. I knew that in her job, she teaches a lot of poetry and literature but I had no idea how much she lked it. As we've both gotten older and come to know each other as adults, I'm amazed how much we have in common when it comes to what we like most in that area. So yeah, I think my little sis is pretty cool.
This one is one of my all time favorite poems she posted this morning. I included her whole post.

Preparing lessons - It's Longfellow week and I'm introducing these 8th graders to one of the greats. Amid the budget cuts, and political rhetoric, we're still teaching basic humanity. Teachers need real support--not just liking and sharing--just to keep going to work every day.
Here's a good lesson from Longfellow from all of us.
"The Arrow and the Song"
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.
