So... My Mom has lung cancer. They're going to "stage" it in a week or so but the tumors are "significant" and there will likely not be much of a treatment plan given her current health which is less than stellar.
Last month, we learned my father-in-law, a very stand up man, honest, soft-spoken, virtuous, godly, 20+ year Army veteran, newly retired and finally ready to enjoy his retirement, kind and what most men should aspire to be, has liver cancer. The Doctors keep using the term "very aggressive" and things don't look good for him at all. He's Lucia's hero.
I'd much prefer that cancer marched right out of these good peoples lives.
It seems so odd that we haven't found a better way to cure, treat or fight cancer. It's such a simple thing at a high level. I don't believe the conspiracy theory stuff but it sure seems like someone could have figured out a way to keep deformed cells from dividing. Maybe it's part of a natural balance of life, who knows.
