Last weekend we visited the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park located in western North Dakota. This trip has become an annual event for the five families in attendance, I believe this is either year 10 or 11 for us. When everyone is there we have 10 adults and 14 kids but given the oldest kids in the bunch are now 19 years old, things like work, etc. sometime interfere but all three of the 19 year olds were sure to make the trip which makes me think they must be enjoying it.
Everyone gets along (even the parents ;)), we eat too much, drink a few, enjoy nightly campfires, go on several hikes through the badlands, play games, observe the wildlife (though no bighorns spotted this year), and unwind from the daily grind all while enjoying each other's company. Pretty tough to beat a deal like that!
