I (and visa) decided this year to try and get a couple of trail cameras and see what the heck is "out there".
I'm glad I did. I had fun running the two cameras I bought. I know some folks have zillions of 'em, but I'd have to hire 100 Messicans to run that many. So I (and visa) bought two.
I got the Browning Spec Ops and the Browning Strike Force. I could elaborate on why those two if anyone is interested, but this is about where I got the Spec Ops one from. www.trailcampro.com
First, even if you aren't interested in buying one, that's a wonderful website to look at. Sort of the Consumer Reports of trail cameras. (Unfortunately, they just stopped providing any info on Cuddebacks......upon 'request'......which bothers me, but oh well).
Anyway, I took a pile of pictures during the last few weeks. Daytime pictures with both cameras are great. Even with movement, they are awesome. I use a rapid fire, 4 shot burst to get full effects. Neat stuff.
But the night time pics of the Spec Ops sucked. One of them, I THINK was a deer! That's how bad it was. This company doubles the warranty if you buy from them, and were stated to have awesome customer service. So I bought one camera from them. I'm glad I did, as I sent them some examples of these poor night time pics.
After several personal emails today back and forth, a guy just called me. We talked for some time. He was satisfied I was doing things right, using right batteries, correct settings, all that......... and he said that they had a 'run' of some of the Browning Spec Ops (only) that had terrible night time pics, and he assumed I got one out of that run. He pointed me to another camera that is similar but takes better night time pics...........and offered to trade me, straight up. Better, he's sending the new camera......with a return label inside. Not the other way around.
Top Notch Major League service..........rivals Cabelas!!! In Missouri somewhere, I think. But unless the price is astoundingly different, they will get all my future business!!
FYI
