In wine there is wisdom
In whiskey there is strength
In water there is bacteria

You got that right....worse case of screamin' sheeitz I ever got was from drinking outta a crystal clear brook in Colorado.
Yeah, I know, it was dumb, but it was my first trip out there back in '88, and I was indestructible, back then.
Giardia, however, brought me to my knees....literally, I sheeit for three straight days....I shoulda gone to the hospital, but it was 40 miles down the mountain to the hospital, and I woulda ruined the other guys opening-day elk hunt.
One of the guys had some Flagell antibiotic, and it worked wonders, but slowly.
Got to feeling a little better, and a day or so later, missed my first Colo. elk....450 yards, shooting nearly straight uphill.
The 5x5 saw me about the same time I saw him.
I was squatted with my pants down, getting rid of more giardia, and had to shoot from that position.
Needless to say, I made a "shitty" shot!!! ;)

I'm too ashamed to tell most of 'em , Bucky. ;)
Did I ever tell ya about one of our hunting buddies, dying overnight from altitude sickness in his sleeping bag???
Happened, I believe, back in '89.

See? I tell 'em all, and I'm labeled a dipwad. "ONLY BUCKY" could do this, that, or the other.
I figger I'm just about perfectly normal.

Aw. That's one of the nicest things you ever said to me.
*sniff*
You too, Vince. I think you are absolutely normal for a true dipwad.

I've drank out of a lot of streams up in the snowmelt area and haven't caught the beaver fever. They say its just a matter of time if you do it regularly.
