Its damn near impossible to find canning lids and jars around here. I don’t know if its national or just here. Lots of people cure their weed in mason jars so with harvest approaching that could be part of the reason too.

There are a few COVID related shortages I saw ahead of time. This was one of them. I picked up most of the lids we needed back in spring. And the vacuum seal bags as well. So far so good.
The thing about local hardware store running shy of lumber? That one surprised me. :)

A good friend of mine is a salesman for a builders supply and he says he's never seen lumber prices so high. He say's there's no shortage and no reason for such high prices and contractors aren't building because no one is willing to pay the price.

I posted this on another thread. But, pistol ammo of any kind and .223/5.56 is almost impossible to find around me. If you can find it, it’s at a premium. A buddy of mine said he found some bulk 9mm and the guy wanted $.80/round. The .22lr shortage a couple of years ago was a minor annoyance. This sucks.

Heck, we still can't find a freezer for the garage (after ours took a dump right at the start of this Covid mess). A few small one's have popped up here and there (like 15 footers), but the prices are ridiculous! I'm looking to replace our 21 footer that crapped out after 30+ years and they are non-existent. You may find 'em on the net, but call the store and they'll just laugh at you ... there ain't none out there.

Until this weekend. I have plenty for what I need, but checked two of my normal places this weekend and they were out.

I was at an estate sale 3-4 weeks ago and they had a storage shed FULL of jars, lids and seals. I'd have to guess maybe 15-20 cases of jars and the lids to go with them ... still new in the original boxes. I didn't pay a bit of attention to them, but maybe I should have now that youse dufes have informed me they're rare as hen's teeth. Thanks for nuttin'! :angry1

Ya' better have Bwana's sister turn those boxes upright, or they're gonna spill out onto the floor. :poke

Trav, I thought I was all set. But, when you have two teenage boys in the house you can burn through some .223 and 9mm in a hurry!
