I know we have talked about some strange names people have in the past, but my niece and nephew came home from school last week with a new all time low. They had a substitute teacher last week with the name of Dixon Butts. That guys parents should be shot! Talk about a name I would have changed the day I turned 18.

Hahaha, I'll never forget one day when I was working on some project with my grandpa, probably a roofing job or somesuch, and he introduced me to a guy named Harry Cox. After he left, my grandpa winked at me and said, "There comes two women with Harry Cox". For an old preacher he had a great sense of humor. Wish more preachers these days were like him.

Birddog can vouch for me on this one. We worked with a lady named Jean Gobble and she married, you guessed it, a man whose last name was Dick. She didn't hyphenate her name but we all called her Jean Gobble Dick.

Hahahahaha....you think he gets a lot of folks asking for spelling of that?
Last year up at Dogtooth, there was a new gal at the office when we checked out and she asked for my email address (which they've had for ten years). I told her it was bbruton@cox dot net. She looked up and said "C-O-X?". I just kind of looked at her funny and suddenly she got it. I just had to add ' How do you spell it'. Or maybe I didn't. but I thought it!

.... or Needle Dick ... or Bug-Fucker! Yep Eddie, you may be dating yourself ... we used to use the term dickweed quite a bit back in the 60's. I haven't heard it used for many years now.
Bucky, I think that Vietnamese dude has a Chinese bro-in-law named Long Dong Wong. ;)

My buddies last name is Dick. I really tried to get him to name his first daughter Anita and his second one Wanda. He wouldn't go for it for some reason. I love to see servers in restaurants squirm when they call out his name for a table. It's not a very common last name around here, but it's not unusual where he's from in Kansas.
Richard Lear of Lear Jet fame named his daughter Shanda.
Also drew a set of plans for a Afro American named Green Moss
