I hope they do well.
I read several articles on trying to make them blight resistant.
With your trees perhaps they have.
Last I heard they were sprouting American Chestnut trees and then grafting them on the root stock of the Chinese Chestnut to help bring them back.
I would like to know where you ordered these from? I’d like to order and plant a few myself.
I’ve planted probably 400 of the Chinese variety on the farm and they are producing now. It’s good food for deer and wildlife but I can’t think for the life of me how they get the nut out of those needles. But I’m sure they do.
Good luck with them Posty!

Burnt Ridge Nirsery in Washington state is where Iordered them from. Its a small family owned farm. So yeah, kinda hipster.

I’ve been following the attempt to reintroduce hickory’s for years. It’s be pretty cool to see them come back. Here’s a few I picked up by my hunting cabin last fall.
